CONSECRATION WEEK 2017

Joshua 3:5, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you."

We are getting closer to kicking off Consecration Week 2017 and I would like to share with you a thought about this coming year.  Many times we approach a new year expecting God to "do something" and when He doesn't do what we think He should have done, we get frustrated.  Have you ever stopped to think that God is expecting something from us as well?  I like this verse in Joshua because it clearly outlines not only God's promise/plan, but also what is expected of us.

  • He expects us to do our part, so he can do His. The Lord told Joshua to have the people consecrate themselves.  We know that this means to set ourselves apart, to be wholly usable for God. In other words to have no un-repented of sin in our life, and to be clean vessels for Him to use. But the meaning of this command goes even deeper; it also means to compose our minds and hearts to hear from God, and obey. That’s my part. Usually we are rushing around too much to compose our hearts and minds to listen to anything, least of all the Lord. We need to build that time into our lives, to listen to Him, to read His word, to understand what He is saying to us, and then to be prepared to obey. That’s our part.
  • God’s part is also very clear, “Tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.” We know for sure that it’s not we ourselves who do the amazing things, for only God can do supernatural things. Only God can change the hearts of men and women. He promises to do it, and He promises to do it among us. He is giving us a ring side seat to watch what He is doing in the spiritual realm, and there is a correlation between the promise and the command that Moses gives.

I'm believing for greater things in 2017, BUT I must do my part!  Will you join me February 5-11 for week of consecration?  Let's just see what God does when we do our part.

Week 3 Prayer Focus

We are in the last week of 21 Days of Fire and I feel that God has heard our fervent prayers and is responding to our sacrificial fasting.  There have already been confirmed healings to have taken place over the past couple of weeks.  Doors of ministry have been opening for some.  2016 is shaping up to be one of for the ages.

Let's continue to pray for the church to experience unprecedented revival and for their to be a great outpouring of God's Spirit accompanied by miracles, signs, and wonders in the days to come as we continue to "FOLLOW" Jesus.

PRAY:

  • That those called into the ministry will answer and follow.  Jesus "saw...Levi..and he said unto him, follow me" (Luke 5:27)
  • That the Church be not caught up in other's affairs that are not endorsed by God, but that they focus on Him. "Jesus saith...what is that to thee? Follow thou me." (John 21:22)
  • That God sends revival and a soul harvest among the men, women, students, and kids and that they "follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace..." (II Timothy 2:22)
  • That good works follow God's people and He be glorified through them in ultimate victory. "I heard a voice from heaven saying...their works do follow them" (Revelation 14:13)
  • That God brings unity and purity and heals all hurts.  That we "follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14)

“FOLLOW”

“FOLLOW”

2016 will be an exciting time for Life Church!  This year we are going to embrace The United Pentecostal Church International’s theme “FOLLOW”, as we endeavor to fulfill the resounding mandate of Jesus, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Matthew 16:24).
